Wilton Police Hand Out Roses In Random Act Of Kindness

WILTON, Conn. — In a random act of kindness, members of the Wilton Police Department brought smiles to motorists and passersby as they handed out pink roses in Wilton Center on Friday.

The officers teamed up with the Wilton Chamber of Commerce and members of Wilton Social Services and the Wilton Domestic Violence Task Force to promote an upcoming fundraiser as well.

The roses came with purple fliers aimed at raising awareness of domestic violence and about Wilton Cares Day on Oct. 16.

That is the first day of Wilton Restaurant Week. Participating businesses that day will donate a portion of their proceeds to the Domestic Violence Crisis Center, which offers services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in Wilton as well as in Norwalk, Darien, New Canaan, Stamford, Weston and Westport.

Police handed out 300 roses near the Village Market as part of the kindness campaign.
