Police said a motorist went through the stop sign at the intersection of Belden Hill and Seir Hill Roads just after 10 p.m. on Dec. 21.
When the officer approached the vehicle, the odor of marijuana could be detected, police said. When asked about the odor the driver handed over a lock box containing two ounces of what is alleged to be marijuana. Police then discovered the lockbox with the thousands of dollars in cash in it, according to police.
Charged with sale of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and failing to stop at a stop sign is Gregory Norman, 25, of 21 Surrey Glen.
His bond was set at $5,000 and he's scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 3.
