WILTON, Conn. — A Wilton home was destroyed by a large fire Thursday evening, but the residents were able to escape without injury, according to The Hour.
The fire was in a single-family home on Shadow Lane, according to The Hour and Facebook posts from many fire departments.
Fire departments from Ridgefield, Georgetown, New Canaan, Norwalk, Weston and Westport provided assistance, The Hour said.
Hurlbut Street was also closed Thursday night because of the fire, according to Wilton CERT, which assisted with rerouting traffic. Fire trucks shuttled water from the nearest hydrant to the blaze on Shadow Lane, CERT said via Facebook.
