Redding Woman Pulled Over In Wilton For Driving Too Closely Under Influence, Police Say

A Redding woman has been charged after police say she was pulled over for following too closely while under the influence.

Wilton Police say they initiated a traffic stop after observing the driver a 2019 Subaru Forester following too closely in the area of Danbury Road and New Street on Sunday, Sept. 8 around 1:30 a.m.

During interviewing, police say the driver, identified as Deborah Finkel, 55, of Redding, was displaying signs of intoxication. She was then asked to perform a series of field sobriety tests, which she allegedly did not pass.

Finkel was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs and following too closely. She was released after posting a $260 bond and is scheduled to appear at Norwalk Superior Court on Thursday, Sept. 19.
