Alexander Delmore, of 10 Costa Lane, Redding, was arrested in an incident that began at 2:10 p.m. Monday, Aug. 3, when Wilton officers responded to the area near Wolfpit and Danbury roads on a report of an individual taking items from cars at the Orem's Diner parking lot, police said.
The same person had also a cellphone charger from inside Orem's and walked away with it, police said.
Officers found Delmore walking on Wolfpit Road and determined he was the suspect in the Orem's case, police said.
While searching Delmore, officers found a cellphone charger matching the description of the one taken from Orem's, police said. Officers also found a large prescription bottle containing 69 pills suspected of being oxycodone/acetaminophen in a shoe in his backpack, police said.
Officers also found drug paraphernalia, including a smoking pipe, razor blades and tin foil with suspected marijuana residue, police said.
Delmore was charged with illegal possession of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia and sixth-degree larceny. Bond was set at $1,000 for an Aug. 4 court date.
