WILTON, Conn. -- A Brookfield man was charged with assaulting and strangling a woman in a car in Wilton this weekend, according to the Wilton Bulletin.
Police said they were alerted to a disturbance on Danbury Road at around 6:30 p.m. and arrived to find a woman walking near the car, according to the Wilton Bulletin.
Donald Karagianes, 25, of Brookfield was accused of strangling and battering the woman when she tried to get out of the car, the Wilton Bulletin reported. There was also a child in the car at the time, according to the Wilton Bulletin.
Karagianes was charged with third-degree assault, violation of a protective order, breach of peace, strangulation and risk of injury to a minor, according to the Wilton Bulletin. He was held on a $25,000 bond and went to court on Monday.
