Bridgeport Man Charged With Stealing Check From Wilton Home

WILTON, Conn. -- A Bridgeport man was arrested over the weekend after police said he stole and cashed a check from a Wilton home last year.

Franckes Gomes-Leandro, 27, was stopped by Monroe police for a traffic violation when they learned he had an active warrant in Wilton for his arrest stemming from a larceny that occurred in August, according to police. Gomes-Leandro is accused of stealing and cashing the check from a home where he was working, according to police.

He was charged with third-degree larceny, third-degree forgery and identity theft by the Wilton police. Gomes-Leandro posted a $4,500 cash bond and was released.
