Robert Siebert, 80, Wilton Resident Worked At Texaco, Financial Services

WILTON, Conn. -- Robert (Bob) H. Siebert, 80, of Wilton, died Monday, Feb. 2.

Siebert was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. in 1934, the son of the late Clifford Siebert and the late Emma V. (Steinhaus) Siebert. He graduated from University of Bridgeport in 1956 and received his M.B.A. from Pace University in 1966. In September 1957, he married Sally Hubbell Siebert.

He was employed for 26 years at Texaco Inc. and was past president of Texaco Retiree’s Club of Connecticut. He started Aspetuck Investment Management Corp. in 1987 and was an investment adviser for 27 years. He was an active member of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, where he served as senior warden, Eucharistic minister, lay reader and stewardship chairman.

Siebert helped the unemployed and participated in a multitude of other influential roles. He was a member of Wilton Kiwanis for 27 years and a member of the American Legion. He participated as a train man at the Wilton Historical Society and was a member of the Brookfield Philatelic Society. He was a proud Army veteran as well. He entered the Army in 1955 and served for six years.

Fishing was a lifelong passion. He also enjoyed golf, stamp collecting and travel with Sally and college friends Rich and Barbara Carle. He spent many summers in Maine at the family camp on Great Moose Lake.

He is survived by his wife, Sally; daughters Susan Watkins and her husband, Larry, of Camden, Del., Linda Fagan of Wilton and Gail Hiestand and her husband, Bob, of Wilton; and grandchildren Patrick Fagan and Alison Hiestand. In addition, he is survived by his cousin Glenna Edmonds of South Hadley, Mass., and numerous other cousins and their families and many friends. He was predeceased in January by his son-in-law, Howard Fagan.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 14, at 11 a.m. at St. Matthews Church, 36 New Caanan Road, Wilton. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements have been made by Bouton Funeral Home, Georgetown. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to or designating Whittingham Cancer Center
