WILTON, Conn. – Joyce Isabel Mary Cowham Carvutto, 92, of Wilton, died on Monday, Jan. 19.
Carvutto was born on Dec. 25, 1922, to Richard and Bertha Cowham. She retired from the Wilton school system in 1984. She was a life member of Zion’s Hill United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the choir. She also spent countless hours at the Cannon Grange helping with fundraisers and enjoying the social camaraderie.
She is survived by her sons Gordon J. Carvutto (Leslie) of Williamsburg, Virginia; Thomas W. Carvutto (Cindy) of Poway, California; a brother, Thomas Cowham; three sisters, Genevieve Saunders, Patricia (Robert) Vadas and Julia Monroe; three grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.
Carvutto was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Leonard.
A graveside service will be held at Hillside Cemetery at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 27.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Zion’s Hill United Methodist Church in Wilton or the local SPCA.
