Wilton Shifts One of Its Polling Stations

WILTON, Conn. – New polling districts and maps for Wilton were approved this week by the Board of Selectmen.

Most of the maps had already been approved. However, moving the polling station for District 2 from Miller-Driscoll to Cider Mill Elementary School held up full approval because of concerns about the April Republican Presidential Primary.

With the primary scheduled when school is in session, the original thought was to keep District 2's polling station at Miller-Driscoll until school ended, so as not to disrupt classes, and shift it to Cider Mill for future primaries and elections.

But Schools Superintendent Gary Richards gave the okay for the polls to be moved to Cider Mill for the Republican Presidential Primary,” Registrar Tina Gardner said, so the District 2 map was approved also.

However, the registrars said the lines have been changed for all three voting districts. They will send out notices to all registered voters to tell them their polling station starting in April and will meet with residents to explain the changes.
