Purse Snatched at Karate School

The thief who snatched a purse at Steve DeMasco's School of Defense in Wilton was either very lucky or very brave. According to the police report, an employee of the karate school kept her purse in a back room. Sometime on Sept. 10 an exterior door to the room was left open and someone came in and stole the purse. It contained the victim's cash and credit cards. If caught, the perpetrator will be charged with larceny.

? Wilton Police are investigating two thefts from cars that took place late the night of Sept. 7 in the south Belden Hill area. Thieves entered two unlocked cars in the driveway at 552 Belden Hill Road. A Dell laptop valued at $2,000 was taken from one vehicle, and a Magellan GPS unit valued at $150 from the other.

The other case took place at 3 Wakefield Road and also involved two unlocked car in a driveway. All that was taken was a $20 flashlight from one of the vehicles. The other was entered but nothing was missing.

Police believe the cases are related because they took place the same evening in close proximity to each other.
