Knife-Wielding Man Arrested in Wilton

An 18-year-old Wilton man was arrested last week on suspicion of threatening to cut his own throat with a kitchen knife during an argument with his father, police said. Ryan Duffy grabbed the  kitchen knife during the altercation, ran outside, put the knife to his throat and said he was going to cut himself, police said. He then dropped the knife and ran into a wooded area, where police found him.

Duffy had marijuana and drug paraphernalia in his possession, police said. They did not say whether he was under the influence during the incident. He was charged with disorderly conduct, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Georgetown EMS took Duffy to Norwalk Hospital for a psychological evaluation, police say.

?James Czel, 64, of Bethel caused a three-vehicle accident after his car skidded on ice on Danbury Road, crossed the center line and hit vehicles driven by Anne Marie Nochandean, 57, of New Milford and Teresa Falkner, 53, of Wilton. Both Czel and Falkner complained of injuries and were taken to Norwalk Hospital by Georgetown EMS. Czel was charged with traveling too fast for conditions.
