Dead Dog Found in Vacant Home

Authorities are investigating the death of a dog found in a home at 42 New St. in the Georgetown section of Wilton. Wilton police went to the home after getting a tip and found that it was vacant except for the dead animal. They said it appeared the residents had vacated the house and left the dog behind. They are trying to find the former occupants of the house.

The dog was to undergo an autopsy to determine why it died. The police said the person who made the complaint was a "concerned person" and would not say how the person knew about the dog.
