WILTON, Conn. The 22-year-old Wilton man police say they suspect in the death of his father was ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation after he was charged with murder at Norwalk Superior Court Friday.
Aaron Ramsey, 22, of 125 Signal Hill Road, was taken into custody and brought to Norwalk Hospital Thursday after breaking into a home on nearby Cheese Spring Road, where he was found covered in blood and injured, Wilton Police Chief Michael Lombardo said.
According to the arrest warrant filed by the Wilton Police Department, Ramsey, who is unemployed, had fled his home Thursday afternoon after beating his father Edward Ramsey, 73, following an argument.
Aaron Ramsey told police he was hearing voices and had to find out who the fakers and manipulators are" and that he was "tasked to put people on trial." He got into an argument with his father, in which both men insisted the other one leave the house, the son told police.
Aaron Ramsey told police he struck his father and used his fists, a bench and a perfect sharp knife he retrieved from the kitchen. The voices told him that his father has magic powers and can heal himself and fled the home when the voices said, Theyre coming for you. You gotta run. When asked who was after him, Aaron Ramsey said aliens, police said.
Aaron Ramsey also told police his father did not fight back.
He said he "used his mind" to open a sliding glass door and get into the house on Cheese Spring Road where police found him.
At around 4:25 p.m., Thursday, the victims wife, Suanne, called 911, telling the operator, my husband is in a pool of blood. Police released the 911 call on Friday.
Aaron Ramsey is being held on $1 million bond.
