Community Cleanup Day Returns to Wilton

WILTON, Conn. – It’s time for a townwide spring cleaning.

From 9 a.m. to noon March 31, Wilton residents will be picking up around town.

The conservation commission will be gathering volunteers around neighborhoods and along the Norwalk River.

Organizations can take on whole sections together by showing up at the gazebo on the Town Green and getting a list of sites from the commission.

Work gloves, garbage bags and trash collection will be available at the gazebo.

“As we enjoy the early spring weather this time of year, unsightly litter that has blown or been otherwise improperly disposed detracts from the clean renewal that spring brings. Consequently, now is the perfect time for the clean up because the leaves are gone from the trees and bushes and the litter along the roads and paths is visible,” a release from the commission said.

Anyone interested in volunteering or organizing a group of volunteers can call the conservation commission office at 203-563-0180 for more information or just stop by the Town Green at 9 a.m.
