Half of the old barbershop on Main Street in Georgetown had been ripped down by Tuesday afternoon as crews worked to take apart the structure. The run-down building, which stands next to The Olive Home toward the end of the street, has been unused since the barber shop closed several years ago.
Georgetown Village Restoration, Inc., founded in 1999, has been working to restore the historic area, which is part of the towns of Weston, Wilton and Redding.
