1,397 Wilton Customers Lose Power Tuesday

UPDATED 7 p.m.: WILTON, Conn. – As wind and rain hit Wilton and Fairfield County on Tuesday, nearly 1,400 Connecticut Light & Power customers in town lost power.

As of 7:p.m. Tuesday, 1,397CL&P customers were without power in Wilton, according to the utility. High winds are in the forecast for the rest of Tuesday afternoon and evening.

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for Fairfield County until 11 p.m. Tuesday. There is also a wind advisory in effect until 6 a.m. Wednesday. Wind gusts of 50 and 55 mph are predicted for the area. The weather service urges drivers to use extra caution.
