Wilton's School Vacation Slows Weekend Events

WILTON, Conn. – The start of the Wilton school winter vacation keeps the goings on about town to a minimum this weekend. Don’t forget that many of the local government and municipal buildings will be closed Monday in celebration of Presidents Day. Particularly, the Wilton Library will be closed.

Here is what’s happening the weekend of Feb. 17 to 19:

Friday

• 7 p.m. Wilton teens get a chance to see a trio of bands playing at Trackside Teen Center. Two bands from Stamford, Sons of Atlas and Physics of Demise, and Symphony of Malice from Meriden will take the stage.

• 8 p.m.: Comedian Colin Quinn will perform his one-man comedy show “Long Story Short” for one-night only at the Ridgefield Playhouse.

Saturday and Sunday

• 10 a.m.: Weir Farm National Historic Site is hosting a gallery with photos showing secret passages and doorways in the Weir Farm buildings as well as taking a deeper look at buildings themselves by former Weir Farm Artist in Residence Xiomáro. The gallery will be on display until the end of March.

• 1 p.m.: The Ridgefield Playhouse is playing the acclaimed film "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy" in three showings Saturday and Sunday at 1, 4 and 7 p.m.
