WILTON, Conn. -- Wilton's Jonathon Rosen is the newest chair-elect of the American Lung Association of the Northeast board of directors.
The 25-member group serves Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont, according to a news release.
Rosen is president of Impact Communications, "a Wilton-based presentation and media training practice serving executives from the business, nonprofit and public sectors," according to the release.
“The American Lung Association of the Northeast is honored to have Jon Rosen serve as Chair-Elect of the Northeast Board of Directors,” Jeff Seyler, president and chief executive officer of the American Lung Association of the Northeast, said in the release.
“Jon has been an important part of the American Lung Association for more than three decades and his passion and enthusiasm for the Lung Association’s mission never falters. We are certain that Jon will excel in this new role.”
Rosen became a volunteer leader of the American Lung Association 32 years ago in the Hudson Valley, serving as president of the board for four terms, according to the release. Rosen then served on the board of the American Lung Association in New York.
"Having lost his father to emphysema, Rosen is all too familiar with the toll that lung disease can take on both the afflicted and their loved ones," representatives said in the release. "Rosen was a charter member of the Lung Association’s National Marketing Communications Task Force and has played a leading role in marketing, media relations, fundraising and finance at the national and local levels."
Rosen also served on the Lung Association’s National Assembly and the National Board of Directors, where he is completing his second term and chairs the Marketing Communications Work Team, according to the release.
“I am honored and humbled by my appointment and look forward to working with an extraordinary Northeast team to fulfill our mission of saving lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease,” Rosen said in the press release.
Rosen is set to work regionally with the Northeast Board of Directors to "ensure that the Lung Association’s research, education and advocacy efforts cover all lung diseases including asthma, emphysema, chronic bronchitis and lung cancer," according to the release.
