Members and nonmembers are invited to the program, which will run from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the Wilton YMCA. The Change of Heart program was designed by SELF magazine to educate women about heart disease, make them aware of their personal risk and motivate them to improve their overall health through volunteer organized fitness events, a press release said.

The program promises to include a Zumba class led by James Tomaselli, advice from nutritionists and health care providers and free blood pressure screenings. Wilton resident and founder of Cardiac Companion Nancy Capelle will speak about her experience of suffering a heart attack and clinically dying at the age of 40.

There is a suggested $20 participation fee. For every $20, a $5 contribution will be made to the American Heart Association’s GO RED for Women movement to help with heart health research, educational programs and awareness.

To register, residents can visit the Change of Heart webpage.
