Wilton Rotarian Patrick Russo Recognized For Community Service

WILTON, Conn. - Rotarian Patrick Russo of Wilton received a top award by District Governor Rick Bassett for his service to the club and to the community.

Russo joined Wilton Rotary in 2005 and has served as a director, president, and chair of community service. He is the liaison with Wilton Social Services to help families in need through food donations, gift cards, assistance for the disabled, and installation of smoke and CO2 detectors in the homes of seniors.

He has spearheaded many fundraising events such as the Family Carnival and a benefit for the Philippine Typhoon Relief Fund, as well as volunteering for most of Rotary's work projects.

Outside of Rotary, he is a longtime member of CERT and is president-elect of the Wilton Chamber of Commerce. He received the District Governor Citation for Area 2 before over 400 Connecticut Rotarians who attended the three-day conference.

Those who participated from Wilton Rotary were President Paul Burnham, President Elect Carol Johnson, Andy Mais, Susan Goldman and Karen Strickland.
