Wilton Family Y Hosts Winter Vacation Camps

WILTON, Conn. – Winter break is coming to Wilton schools, and for those who aren’t leaving town, the Wilton Family Y is hosting programs to keep the kids entertained.

Gymnastics:In honor of the Y’s new training center at 644 Danbury Road, classes are being offered on a trial basis during the holiday break. All the classes offered are open to residents for $10 a day from Feb. 21 to 24. Preschool classes for 3- to 5-year-olds will meet from 9 to 9:45 a.m., kindergarten classes from 10 to 10:45 a.m., and classes for ages 7 and up meet from 11 a.m. to noon. Registration is recommended.

Kidz Zone:The weeklong camp includes swimming, gym time and themed activities open to kids ages 3 1/2 to 11 years old. The full-day program is open to kindergartners through 11-year-olds from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Half-day runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. or 1:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sibling discounts and lunch are available. Full-day Kidz Zone is $80 a day for Y members, $120 for nonmembers. Half-day program is $50 a day for members, $70 nonmembers. Enrollments for three or more days are discounted.

Legos:This is a hands-on and minds-on program using Play-well TEKnologies to explore concepts in physics, mechanical and structural engineering, and architecture. For children in kindergarten through fourth grade, Lego Camp is being held at the Y the whole vacation week at 1 to 4 p.m. The weeklong program costs $175 for Y members, $275 nonmembers.
