Wilton-Based Canine Co. Gives Dogs Makeovers To Prepare For Adoption

WILTON, Conn. -- Ten dogs in need of adoption at the Danbury Animal Welfare Society (DAWS) in Bethel were treated to “canine makeovers,” courtesy of the Wilton-based Canine Co.

The Canine Co. mobile spa and two groomers visited the DAWS campus in Bethel for a “Spa Day” during which they gave the dogs a shampoo and moisturizing treatment, nail trim, ear cleaning and more to get them ready to head to their new homes.

“We want the dogs to look their best when people come to meet and consider adopting them,’ said Jennifer Hill, President and CEO of Canine Co. “As a longtime supporter of DAWS, we thought a spa day with our mobile grooming unit would be a great way to help get more of these needy pets adopted.”

Since 1974, DAWS works to promote responsible pet guardianship and the humane treatment of animals, while working toward ending animal overpopulation through education and a variety of programs.
