The park's grounds are open for free from dawn to dusk. The visitor's center is open Wednesdays through Sundays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The park offers Painting Sites Guide, which outlines a self-guided hike of the property in which you can walk in the footsteps of great American artists while viewing 38 of the park's painting site locations. Visitors can also Take Part in Art. The park provides graphite pencils, colored pencils or chalk pastels for free and visitors of all ages and abilities are encouraged to find their artistic inspiration out in the landscape. Also, visitors young and old are invited to take part in the Junior Ranger Program.
The park was also highlighted as the National Park Getaway, with a written travelogue for visitors. Read the story here at the National Parks official website.
