Alexis Onthank, 3, was one of the many children to accept an invitation from the Wilton Library to go on a picnic with their teddy bears on Thursday.
Andrea Falkner, head of children's services at the library, led the Teddy Bear Picnic. She packed many activities into the half-hour centered on the traditional bedtime buddy of children. Falkner read two books about teddy bears, taught the kids a song-and-dance routine and had them decorate their own paper teddy bear.
Also, to make it a true picnic, Falkner provided a thematic snack for the children as well, Teddy Grahams.
