Boucher represents Bethel, New Canaan, Redding, Ridgefield, Weston, Westport and Wilton.
Boucher is a ranking member of the state legislature’s Education Committee. The YMCAs recognized Boucher for her advocacy on behalf of children and their families.
Boucher was presented with a plaque in honor of her advocacy and leadership at the State Capitol.
“I am so appreciative to the Connecticut Alliance of YMCAs for this wonderful honor,” Boucher said. “Our YMCAs are powerful advocates for the needs of children, families and individuals throughout Connecticut. I am pleased to have been able to help our YMCAs to better serve their members. I applaud the work they do to make a positive impact on the lives of thousands of children.”
Sen. Boucher, who serves as ranking member of the legislature’s Education Committee, continues to focus on strengthening the state’s laws regarding on school readiness and concussion awareness.
"Today’s YMCA is much more than what you may think. Focusing in on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, the YMCA services the need of 550,000 residents across the state of Connecticut,” Connecticut Alliance of YMCAs Executive Director John Cattelan said.
