Cats Seek Purr-Fect Forever Homes In Wilton

WILTON, Conn. – Calling all cat lovers: If you've been looking to add to your family, Animals in Distress, a no-kill cat shelter, has several cats available for adoption.

One of the adoptees is Fred Astaire, a male black and white tuxedo cat described as a gentle giant who loves chin scratches, head caresses and back rubs. Fred is neutered, up-to-date on his shots and house trained.

Next on the adoption list is a “mellow,” long haired torti/calico female named Gypsy. Described as a sweetheart, Gypsy is said to enjoy curling up in front of a window and watching the birds. She is spayed, up-to-date on her shots and house trained.

Also available for adoption are siblings Zoe, Zeke and Zeus. Described as gentle, loving angels, these siblings need to be adopted together, as they are so close. “Whoever is graced with ‘the three Z's’ will have the most wonderful cat experience ever and receive and endless supply of gratitude and love,” shelter organizers said. Each sibling is spayed or neutered, up-to-date on shots and house trained.

Gene, a 9-month-old short-hair tabby male, is awaiting a loving home. He is said to have the spirit of a kitten and enjoys playtime. Gene’s sister, Dorothy is also available for adoption. Like her brother, Dorothy enjoys playing with cat toys and loves to explore. Gene and Dorothy are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on shots and house trained.

Sammy, a black male cat with a long, “silky-smooth” coat, is seeking an extra special home. Sammy is said to be a gentle soul who loves to give and receive attention. He is also said to get along exceptionally well with other cats. Sammy requires a home where he can receive extra care as he is FIV positive. He is neutered, up-to-date on regular shots and house trained.

Another adoptee is Tigger, an affectionate female tabby. Tigger is described as warm, loving and “as sweet as they come.” She is spayed, house trained and up-to-date on her shots.

Anyone interested in adopting can meet the cats in person every Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Animals in Distress headquarters, 238 Danbury Road, or by making an appointment.

The adoption fee is $100 and applications are required. Adoption applications and more information are available on the Animals in Distress website.
