Multiple myeloma is a form of cancer that forms in white plasma blood cells. There is no known cure. JP and Annamarie's hope is, instead, for complete remission.
Next year, JP and Annamarie will be joined by several others who hope to take their fight to Mount Everest while raising money for Norwalk-based Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation.
JP and Annamarie will a 12-day journey through the Himalayan Mountains to the Everest Base Camp, an elevation of over 18,000 feet.
The couple is hosting an online fundraising campaign with proceeds going directly to MMRF. To date, they have raised nearly $27,000 of their $35,000 goal.
MMRF is a leading private funder of multiple myeloma research. With their help, the FDA has approved 10 new treatments.
