The trademark white tents are set up at the corner of School Road and Danbury Road/Route 7 as donations pour in for the sale.
Under the enormous tents, shopping fans will find hundreds of new and gently used items, including household goods, furniture, garden tools, toys, sports equipment, bicycles and clothing. And organizers claim on their website that every sale since 1951 has included at least one mink and at least one sink.
The proceeds from all Minks to Sinks sales support Family & Children’s Agency, a Norwalk-based nonprofit that provides social services to individuals and families. The entire event is run by volunteers.
Admission is free. These are the sale's hours:
- Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., rain or shine
- Sunday, from noon to 4 p.m., when everything is 50 percent off
- Monday, from 9 a.m. to noon, which is Bag Day, when shoppers can fill up a bag for $7.
