Wilton's Woodcock Nature Center Readies For Family Howl Prowl

WILTON, Conn. -- The Woodcock Nature Center will once again host its annual Family Howl Prowl on Friday, Oct. 25.

The event is suited for all ages and will include a hayride down the driveway lined with jack o’lanterns and luminaries, a flashlight scavenger hunt in the woods, a trip out on a raft to spot night animals, a fireside s’more station in the pavilion and the opportunity to meet and greet some of the center’s resident animals.

The main event of the evening will be an appearance by Atka, the ambassador wolf from the Wolf Conservation Center in South Salem, N.Y. A trainer will be on hand to teach children and families different facts about wolves and their environment.

The cost is $40 per family or $20 for individuals and pre-paid registration is required. Families may sign up to arrive at 5 p.m., 5:30 p.m., 6 p.m. or 6:30 pm. Participants should bring flashlights, dress warmly and wear good walking shoes.
