WILTON, Conn. -- As summer approaches, the Wilton Library is stocking the library with plenty of interesting events for all to enjoy.

First on tap is an exhibit and reception on Monday, May 23 by Weir Farm Weir Farm Artist-in-Residence Erin O'Brien, from 6 – 7:30 p.m. O'Brien's paintings are small abstractions, haptic records of a mental reality. They arise from a feeling of intimacy with a place or another person, or often, both.

The paintings are an equal conversation between these perceptions and memories and the space of painting itself. O'Brien will continue her ongoing investigations while allowing the place of Weir Farm to enter the work. Co-sponsored by Weir Farm Art Center and Weir Farm National Historic Site and presented by Wilton Library. No charge. Registration suggested.

On Thursday, May 26, the library will feature an author's talk with Eliza Kennedy - "I Take You," from 7 – 8:30 p.m. A first time novelist, Kennedy will introduce the audience to Lily Wilder, a New York lawyer, blushing bride and totally incapable of being faithful to one man. With humor reminiscent of “Bridesmaids,” this debut novel creates a protagonist the reader won’t forget.

Kennedy attended the University of Iowa and Harvard Law School, was editor of the Harvard Law Review and served as a law clerk for a federal judge. She practiced litigation for a law firm in NYC before writing her first novel. Books available for purchase and signing courtesy of Elm Street Books. Registration is suggested.

The Wilton Library is 137 Old Ridgefield Road,; 203-762-3950.
