The event will be held on Thursday, Oct. 6, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.

“This is such a wonderful event that women look forward to each fall. It gives them a chance to visit with each other, catch up on what’s been happening in each other’s’ lives, and enjoy the beauty of the library on an autumn evening,” said Robin Axness, development director for Wilton Library.

After the red carpet, attendees will move through the receiving line for photo ops in a Photo Booth.

The event is a significant fundraiser for the Wilton Library. The proceeds will support its  programs, services and technology that the community has come to rely on.

The fundraiser is supported by sponsors including Bankwell in Wilton, Caraluzzi’s, Catamount Wealth Management and Tracy Locke. The media sponsor is Wilton Magazine.

The event will be catered by Marly’s Bar & Bistro, serving up hors d’oeuvres worthy of any film celebrity gathering, along with fabulous silent auction items, contemporary piano accompaniment by Darren Litzie who has performed at the event for many years, and of course, the aforementioned Photo Booth, where all manner of “selfies” and group shots will be captured after guests strike their best red carpet poses.

“I was thrilled to be a part of this ongoing tradition for the library. It gives us a few hours to enjoy each other’s company and bring in much needed funding for the library so that we can continue to appreciate it and all it has to offer the community," said Suzanne Lishnoff, event chairperson. "And this year, we’re going to make all our women feel like the celebrities they are!”

The committee members consisting of Amy Cooper, Jennifer Alesia, Carrie Preisano, Michelle Shia and Kathleen Zadourian along with Suzanne Lishnoff have been hard at work bringing together wonderful silent auction items.

Some of the items include a crafty ladies’ night out at the library using the Innovation Station, a private wine tasting class for 20, private yoga and tennis sessions, and professional photo sessions with some of Wilton’s top photographers.

Many of the auction items may be found on the library’s website at www.wiltonlibrary.org and by clicking on the icon for the soirée.

If guests are not able to walk away with coveted auction items, there will still be many opportunities to support the library, from prize giveaways to a wine pull.

“The wine pull is one of our newest treats for the evening,” added Axness. “Guests will be able to purchase corks with numbers on them for $15 each, and when they check out at the end of the evening, the corks will be matched with prized bottle of wines, with values upward of $75, so there will be a lot of fun and excitement even up to the end.”

Tickets for the event are $55 per person and may be purchased online at www.wiltonlibrary.org, by visiting the library’s Circulation Desk or by calling Suzanne Verrilli in the development office at 203-762- 6321.

Wilton Library is located at 137 Old Ridgefield Road in the heart of Wilton Center. There are a limited number of tickets and guests are reminded that last year’s fundraiser sold out days before the event.
