WILTON, Conn. The first Wilton High School football game, a film about Americas favorite cuddly Muppet and an outreach fair are some of the events planned for this weekend in and around Wilton.

Wilton High School Football: 7 p.m. The Wilton High School Warriors visit the Bridgeport Central High School Hilltoppers in the first game of the season. Kennedy Stadium, 555 Madison Ave., Bridgeport.

Visions and Versions of America: Three Views From Fiction at Wilton Library: 4-5:30 p.m. In this presidential election year, we are reminded the federalist philosophy reflected in the Electoral College system envisions an America that is not a single homogenized nation but an amalgam of states. In three lectures on American fiction, Mark Schenker, Yale College dean of academic affairs, will consider how the geographical and cultural aspects of northern New England, the Deep South and the American West enrich and complicate our national identity. Each session will consist of a one-hour talk, followed by a question-and-answer period. Wine and cheese will be served. Registration highly recommended. New Perspectives Film Series at Wilton Library: 7:30-9:30 p.m. This sessions film will be Being Elmo: A Puppeteers Journey. Beloved by millions of children around the world, Elmo is an international icon. However, few people know the soft-spoken man behind the furry red monster: Kevin Clash. Narrated by Whoopi Goldberg, the film follows Clashs remarkable career, while also offering a behind-the-scenes look at Sesame Street and the Jim Henson Workshop. Suggested donation of $5. Refreshments will be served. The New Perspectives Documentary series is programmed and moderated by filmmaker, Megan Smith-Harris. A question-and-answer period will follow the film. Wilton Republican Town Committee Constitution Day Barbeque: 1-5 p.m. The Wilton Republican Town Committee is hosting a family barbeque. Join the Republican town and state leaders for a day of food, drinks, a silent auction and games for all ages. Constitution Day and Citizenship Day are both observed annually in America. On this special day, the nation commemorates the signing of the Constitution Sept. 17, 1787. It recognizes all who have become citizens either by birth or naturalization. The cost is $50 for families, $25 per person and $20 for seniors. Trackside Teen Center, 15 Station Road.

St. Matthew's Episcopal Church Outreach Fair: 11:30 a.m. The church has a very active outreach committee that supports numerous community agencies and programs through financial aid and hands-on service. Numerous agencies will be available to share their ministry in the Parish Hall. Stop by their table and learn about how they can make a difference in our communities. Silvermine School of Art Faculty Art Show: 1-5 p.m. This is the final day of the Silvermine School of Arts faculty show at Sara Victoria Hall. Showcasing the current works of the distinguished artists/teachers of the Silvermine School of Art, this exhibition represents every style and medium including painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, mixed media, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry and silversmithing. Twisted Jazz Performance At Swizzles: 6 to 8 p.m. Wilton jazz/rock group Twisted Jazz will be appearing on the patio at the Wilton Swizzles Frozen Yogurt shop on Sunday and the following Sunday evenings, weather permitting. This is a free event. Twisted Jazz is comprised of several talented ninth grade Wilton High School students.
