A hot-penny plate is a trivet. In this workshop, kids will use pennies, felt and cork to make a star-shaped trivet. While making their trivet, museum educator Lola Chen will talk with the children about the history of coins in the United States. Participants will also enjoy a cheese fondue snack.
Participants need to bring 20 pennies, to make their hot-penny plate. The cost is $10 per child for Wilton Historical Society members, with a maximum of $25 per family, and $15 per child for non-members, with a maximum $35 of per family.
The workshop will run from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Register by emailing info@wiltonhistorical.org or calling 203-762-7257. The Wilton Historical Society is located at 224 Danbury Rd.
