Christina Dufour, owner of The Carnelian Connection in Wilton, says you can manage that by learning "mindfulness."
She instructs businesses and individuals on how they can take a "holistic approach to better health and well-being."
Dufour draws on her background in yoga and meditation to help each client enrich their body, mind, and soul at her corporate events, retreats, and personalized coaching services.
"Understanding how hectic, stressful, and tiring today’s 24/7 world can be, I am inspired to help [clients] balance work, family, and personal well-being," she said.
Dufour enjoyed her previous jobs in banking management, but said she started to seek "something different" for herself in her work. She set out to study yoga, then meditation, and ultimately dance.
"Through this journey and the development of skills and knowledge in mindfulness, I could see how it would have great benefit if applied in business."
Dufour insists professionals must find ways to reduce their stress in order to achieve health and well-being in the overall lives.
"We as people are not used to being with ourselves without some sort of plan or apparatus. Most times individuals run on auto-pilot and thus this level of distracted engagement spills over into personal and professional lives, making it difficult to find balance or relaxation," Dufour said.
The 24/7 nature of today's technology interferes with that as well. People need down time to savor the "ease and joy of just being present" in a given moment, she said.
"There's a lack of interpersonal communications and connections are suffering, because we as a people are losing the connection we have with ourselves."
