WILTON, Conn. Thanks to positive feedback in Norwalk and customer encouragement, Naked Greens is coming to Wilton.
Restaurant owner Victor Melendez plans to open a second Naked Greens location in his hometown on Route 7. The new place is scheduled to open in early November at the site of the former Soup Alley, pending receipt of the necessary permits.
Melendez, who opened the first Naked Greens in Norwalk last February, said he had not planned to open a second location until next year. But he received encouragement and rave reviews from Wilton residents who made the trip to enjoy the salads, soups and wraps that his place has become famous for.
The response was really good in Norwalk. We got some really good review from people, said Melendez. Weve had a lot of customers in Wilton coming in and saying, Why dont you open in Wilton? Every day I heard it.
He found the space at the old Soup Alley, which he purchased before it closed. Melendez opted to open on Route 7 instead of in Wilton Center because of the space and the chance to attract customers from Ridgefield, Weston, Danbury and other drivers who use Route 7.
Melendez said hes very pleased to fulfill the wishes of Wilton residents who wanted another option for healthy and delicious food. I really believe in what were doing and what were offering, he said. I think theres a need in the marketplace. Im really betting high on it.
