Deadly Fall Dangers Prompt Massive Recall Of Popular Ladders More than 1.7 million ladders are being recalled after bolts broke while people were using them, creating a risk of serious injury or death from falls. Louisville Ladder recalled about 1.77 million of its Louisville, Featherlite, Lite and Century attic stairway ladders, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said on Thursday, Aug. 6. Another 13,054 ladders were sold in Canada. The CPSC said the bolts can break while the ladders are in use.
