WESTPORT, Conn. — A multi-vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of Post Road East and Morningside Drive North in Westport on Friday, April 28, at 7:30 p.m., which is forcing an extended closure of the roadway for further investigation, police said.
Traffic was being detoured around the affected area, and traffic delays on Post Road East and the surrounding areas should be expected, police said.
One lane of traffic was open to vehicles traveling eastbound on Post Road East, but all westbound traffic on Post Road East was being detoured, police said.
This traffic pattern could be changed as the police investigation continues into Friday night.
Motorists should use Long Lots Road and/or Greens Farms Road as alternate routes around the accident scene.
