Stratford Resident Wins $500K On Scratch Lottery Ticket
A Fairfield County resident is lugging around some cash after claiming their $500,000 prize on a Fortune scratch-off lottery ticket. The unnamed Stratford resident purchased the winning ticket in Shelton at the Wheels gas station at 18 Old Stratford Road on Tuesday, March 19, according to the Connecticut Lottery. The Fortune $50 ticket offers players 40 chances to win per ticket, lottery officials said. Prizes range from $50 to $4 million. Clerks At Seven Fairfield County Businesses Busted Selling Tobacco, E-Cigarettes To Minors
Employees at seven businesses were busted selling tobacco and e-cigarettes to minors during a special sting operation, police in Fairfield County announced. In late April, in Shelton, law enforcement agencies conducted unannounced compliance inspections at 17 locations to see if clerks would sell to underage buyers. Of the 17 locations, seven were found to be non-compliant and offending clerks were ticketed and fined $300. Duo Nabbed After Trying To Use Fake $100 Bills At Westport Gas Station
Two 20-year-old men were nabbed after allegedly attempting to pass fake $100 bills at Fairfield County gas stations. Tevon Johnson and Nasia Battle, both of Brooklyn, were arrested on Wednesday, Feb. 12, after Wilton Police were notified by Westport Police that two men in a black Honda were attempting to use fake $100 bills at gas stations, said Capt. Robert Cipolla of the Wilton Police Department. According to Cipolla, shortly after receiving the notification, a clerk at the Gulf Station on Danbury Road, called police to report the two men had just attempted to use a fake $100 bill. …

Police: Trumbull Man Stole $9K Worth Of Cigarettes, Caused Damage At Two Westport Businesses
A Trumbull man is facing charges after police say he stole approximately $9,000 in cigarettes and caused damage to two Westport businesses. Westport Police responded to Riverside Sunoco on the report of a burglary on Friday, Jan. 4. The caller observed the suspect make a forced entry. Further investigation revealed that the suspect stole more than $5,000 worth of cigarettes and caused over $1,400 of damage to the front door and cash register.
