Teen, Woman Hospitalized In Scooter Vs. Car Crash In New Canaan A Connecticut 17-year-old boy and a 53-year-old woman were rushed to the hospital following a crash in Fairfield County, authorities said. Investigators are asking for witnesses of the incident.  The wreck was reported just after 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 24, at South Avenue near the northbound ramp for the Merritt Parkway in New Canaan, police said.  An initial investigation found the woman's van was turning onto the parkway when it crashed into the teen's Vespa scooter, New Canaan police said.  Paramedics took the teen and woman to Norwalk Hospital.
