This week, 16,000 high school seniors were chosen from around the country as semifinalists, who are vying for 7,600 scholarships totaling more than $30 million that will be announced in the spring. CT Public Schools Get Highest Grades In Nation Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Jersey have the best public school systems in the United States, according to a new education report. EdWeek Research Center’s annual “Quality Counts” report grades each state’s public school system on a scale of A to F. The ranking takes into account student success, school finances and student achievement then awards a score on a scale of 1 to 100 (the higher the score, the better the letter grade).
