CT Man Busted With 145 Vials Of Crack, Other Drugs After Spotted Making Deal, Police Say
A Connecticut man was allegedly busted with 145 vials of crack cocaine, heroin, and other drugs after police spotted him making a deal on a city street.
The bust took place around 3:45 p.m., Wednesday, July 7, when Waterbury Police Department’s Gang Task Force and Street Crimes Unit saw area resident Yamil Carreras, age 42, conducting drug deals in the area of Baldwin Street, said Sgt. Robert Davis.
After officers stopped Carreras, a search uncovered:
145 vials of crack cocaine (55.6 grams);
24 bags of cocaine (2.8 grams);
54 bags of heroin;
$507 in cash;

Fairfield County Man Charged With Illegal Gun Possession
A Fairfield County man has been indicted by a federal grand jury for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
David Burden, age 40, of Norwalk, pleaded not guilty on Wednesday, Jan. 20, following the indictment, said John H. Durham, U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut.
Burden has been detained in state custody since his arrest on Wednesday, Sept. 30.
As alleged in court documents and statements made in court, on Sept. 30, Bridgeport Police officers arrested Burden after he fired a gun in the area of Kossuth Street and Nichols Street in Bridgeport.

Felon On Probation Stopped While Driving 115 MPH With Loaded Gun On I-95, Police Say
A Fairfield County man on probation was allegedly busted with a loaded gun after being stopped for driving 115 mph on I-95.
Giovanni Candelario, 27, of Bridgeport, was arrested on Saturday, Jan. 9, after his white 2014 Acura IIx20, was spotted traveling in excess of 115 mph and weaving through traffic on Route 8 South, south of Exit 8 in Bridgeport, said the Connecticut State Police.
When stopped on I-95, officers found that Candelario had a suspended driver's license and that he was on probation and on the Deadly Weapon Registry, police said.

Man Charged With Manslaughter In Death Of Two During Crash Nabbed With Loaded Gun, Police Say
A Fairfield County man with a long history with the Stamford Police Department, including being arrested for his involvement in the death of two people during a crash, has been arrested again.
Jerry Diaz, 20, of Stamford, was arrested by Stamford Police around 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 16, in what started as a call for a harassment complaint at 27 High Ridge Road, said Sgt. Jeffrey Booth.
According to Booth, the suspect in the complaint was Diaz, who is facing manslaughter charges in the death of two people who were in a vehicle he was driving when it crashed in August 2019.

Felon Caught With Gun In Stamford Park
Police nabbed a convicted felon for possession of a gun and drugs after receiving a tip that he would be at a Stamford park.
Travis Vanterpool-Gordon, 22, of Stamford, was charged with possession of narcotics, possession of a hallucinogen, criminal possession of a gun and interfering with police following a search on Tuesday around 10:30 p.m., according to Capt. Richard Conklin.
Officers in the Narcotics and Organized Crime Squad received word that Vanterpool-Gordon, described as a black male with dreadlocks, 5-foot-9, was at Hatchfield Park off Perry Street with a gun, Conklin said.

CT Man Sentenced For Illegally Possessing Firearm, Ammunition
A convicted felon in Connecticut is set to spend more than three years behind bars after being sentenced for illegally possessing a firearm and ammunition, which he attempted to sell.
John Durham, the United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut announced this week that New Haven resident John Epps, 25, has been sentenced to 40 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release, after pleading guilty to one count of possession of a firearm by a previously convicted felon.
