Buckle Up: New CT Seat Belt Law To Go Into Effect This Week; Here's What To Know
A new Connecticut law requiring all vehicle passengers to wear seat belts is set to go into effect later this week. Beginning Friday, Oct. 1, all passengers will be required to buckle up, including those in the back seat of the vehicle, Gov. Ned Lamont said. Ned Lamont. On Monday, July 12, Lamont signed “Public Act 21-175” which will require all passengers, no matter where they are sitting, to wear a seat belt as part of a State Department of Transportation bill that passed with bipartisan support. Here's How Many Crashes State Police Have Responded To So Far During Thanksgiving Holiday
Connecticut State Police officials have released the number of calls for services and vehicle crashes troopers have responded to so far entering Thanksgiving weekend, during the holiday enforcement period. As of early Saturday morning, state police received 5,046 calls for service since the start of Thanksgiving Holiday enforcement period. "We responded to a total of 244 reported accidents with unfortunately one of those accidents being a fatal motor vehicle accident," state police said.
