Reports Of Black Students Receiving Racist Emails Under Investigation At UMass UMass Amherst is reporting an increase in racially motivated anti-Black incidents, according to a statement by the university’s vice-chancellor. In a message sent to students on Thursday, Sept. 23, Vice-Chancellor and Chief Diversity Officer Nefertiti Walker, said a racist email was sent to numerous Black-centered student groups on campus on Friday, Sept. 17. Police Investigating Person Who Allegedly Harassed Five Black Men At Stamford Marina Stamford Police are investigating a racially charged incident in which a white man allegedly harassed a group of five young Black men at an area marina. The incident took place at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 20, at the Cove Island Marina in Stamford and was videotaped by numerous people, police said. "The department would like to acknowledge that this incident is currently an active investigation," said Capt. Richard Conklin.
