Walgreens To Close 2 More CT Pharmacies, Raising Number To 5 Across State Walgreens has announced it will close two more stores next month as the pharmacy giant continues reducing its footprint across the country. The pharmacy chain announced this week it would shut the 311 E. Main St. Middletown store and 1083 Boston Post Road in Milford on April 23, according to its website.  Walgreens previously announced closures in Waterbury, Hartford, and New Haven slated for next month. Rite Aid Will Close Fairfield County Store After Filing For Bankruptcy Rite Aid, the pharmacy giant that filed for bankruptcy on Sunday, Oct. 15, plans to close 154 underperforming stores nationwide, according to a new filing. Rite Aid announced earlier this week that declining sales and rising debt forced the company's hand in filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
