24-Year-Old Suspect Nabbed For Norwalk Shooting, Police Say A Bridgeport man has been charged with the shooting of another man in Norwalk months after the incident took place. Norwalk Police arrested Samuel Branch, age 24, on a fugitive warrant along with the US Marshals on Wednesday, Jan. 18 in Bridgeport. On Thursday, May 12, 2022, members of the patrol division responded to a shooting in the area of 43 North Main Street. They located a crime scene however no victims were on the scene, said Lt. The incident took place around 9:35 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 21, in front of 44 North Main Street, said Norwalk Deputy Fire Chief Edward Prescott. Transformer Fire Closes Norwalk Roadway, Cuts Power, Police Say A transformer fire caused a road closure and cut power to many in Norwalk. A transformer exploded about around 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 21, on North Main Street, police said. Police say North Main has reopened after being closed between Washington and Marshall streets. The explosion was caused by an underground transformer fire that also caused a major power outage in downtown Norwalk, police said. Hit-Run Driver Turns Self In After Pedestrian Struck In Norwalk Norwalk police are investigating a hit-and-run in which the driver fled the scene and then later called the police to admit to the crime.  The incident took place around 3:18 a.m., Sunday, May 5, when officers responded to North Main Street at Marshall Street for a pedestrian that had been struck by a vehicle, said Norwalk Police Lt.
