Three Connecticut men were apprehended after an incident involving a woman in a CVS parking lot in New York led to a police chase and separate crashes. The chain of events began around 4:30 p.m. Friday, May 17 in Northern Westchester County. Former Police Chief, Veteran From Brookfield Dies
A former police chief from Connecticut who led a department in Northern Westchester is being remembered for his lifetime of public service. Fairfield County resident Fred Gambino, Jr. of Brookfield, the former chief of the North Castle Police Department, died on Sunday, Dec. 3 at the age of 86, the department announced on Monday, Dec. 11. Born in White Plains in 1937, Gambino graduated from White Plains High School before going on to serve in the Marine Corps. A black bear gave some residents in Northern Westchester a quick scare as it made the rounds through an otherwise quiet neighborhood last week. A Sunset Drive resident in Armonk reported a black bear that was lounging in a tree shortly after 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 13, the North Castle Police Department said, with an officer confirming the bear sighting upon arrival to the home. A fast-acting police officer came to the rescue of a father who accidentally locked a pair of children inside an SUV in Northern Westchester. The North Castle Police Department received a report shortly after 1:15 p.m. on Monday, May 28 from a man who said that he had inadvertently locked the doors to his Audi SUV with two children inside on Old Route 22 in Armonk. A woman who was involved in a verbal road rage incident with a motorist in a vehicle with Connecticut license plates on I-684 sought solace at a Westchester police department after being followed for several miles. Missing Endangered Woman, 23, Located At Store In Greenwich
Police agencies in Westchester teamed together to help locate a missing endangered woman in Greenwich. North Castle Police Sgt. Regen Hufnagle was called to Finch’s Country Market in Banksville shortly before 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2, to assist Mount Pleasant Police Department in locating the missing woman.
