With the changeover to sleet happening about two to three hours later than was predicted, snowfall accumulation totals wound up being higher than expected. The evening commute was an extremely treacherous one, with numerous crashes, stuck vehicles and spinouts. But then again, considering the way this winter has gone, maybe not. The Nor'easter that moved through the area overnight Monday into Tuesday did result in bands of heavy snow -- and in some parts of the area, significant accumulation.
