Man Charged In Westport Smash-Grab Jewelry Store Robbery
A Fairfield County man has been charged in connection with a smash-and-grab robbery in which the thieves made off with an unknown quantity of jewels. On Wednesday, May 29, Westport Police arrested 30-year-old Bridgeport resident Javon Thorbourne in connection with the case on Thursday, May 9, at the Lux, Bond, and Green at 136 Main St. According to Lt. Connecticut Inmate Strangled With A

19 Mask
An inmate at the Corrigan-Radgowski Correctional Center in Connecticut was found strangled with a COVID-19 mask, police said. Daniel Ocasio, of Windsor, died Wednesday, Aug. 12. He was discovered by police sitting on a bunk in his cell with a cloth mask tied around his neck, police said. Ocasio had been in prison since Aug. 5. The facility is in Montville. He was awaiting trial on a charge of third-degree burglary. The medical examiner’s office will perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death and whether it was a suicide, homicide, or accident.
