A Fairfield County man was busted allegedly selling cocaine laced with fentanyl to undercover agents over several months. Joshua Powell, age 30, of Stamford, was charged by Norwalk Police on Thursday, Aug. 10. During May 2023, the Special Services Division began receiving information that Powell was selling large quantities of powder and crack cocaine that contained fentanyl within the City of Norwalk, said Norwalk Police Deputy Chief Terrence Blake. A fire broke out late Saturday night at a business on Main Street in Norwalk. It happened around 11:45 p.m. at Yankee Peddler and Pawn Shop. A fire at a Variety store in a strip mall on Main Street in Norwalk spread throughout the building early Thursday. Norwalk firefighters responded around 2:30 a.m. at 61 Main St., for a reported structure fire, according to Norwalk Fire Department Deputy Chief Todd Smith.
